Understand the region · Left side
From the ankle to the toes
The ankle connection
The talus meets the distal tibia and fibula at the ankle. Beneath it sits the calcaneus, which forms the heel.
OpenStax · Bones of the lower limb ↗Three groups of foot bones
The principal foot skeleton has seven tarsals, five metatarsals and fourteen phalanges. The big toe has two phalanges; each other toe has three.

- Locate the talus
Highlight the talus with the neighboring bones visible. Rotate the assembly to inspect the ankle from the side.
Open Left talus → - Inspect the heel
Isolate the calcaneus and examine its shape, then use Show context to restore the foot.
Open Left calcaneus → - Follow the forefoot
Highlight the first metatarsal while keeping the other bones visible. Trace the remaining bones toward the big toe.

What this model does not show
Twenty-six principal foot bones plus the tibia and fibula are loaded. Sesamoids, cartilage, ligaments, tendons and intrinsic foot muscles are absent. The arches are shown only as a static arrangement of bones, not under load.
Static educational geometry, not a movement simulation or a diagnostic image. BodyParts3D / DBCLS source attribution is provided with the viewer.
Anatomical facts checked against the linked references on . Specialist review pending. Instructions describe this Anatomio viewer, not the source textbook.
